I received my Gametower R5s a week ago, and it's been incredibly hard to put it down. As a child of the 80's and 90's, I used to see ads in comic books for various games and growing up in a small town games were hard to come by. Especially arcade games, I can count on one hand how many arcades I got to visit growing up.

Well, the arcade just came to me! Minutes after plugging in this plug-n-play console I was battling the Empire and trying to blow up the Death Star in Star Wars Trilogy Arcade! You know, the one that had a giant seat you had to sit in while you piloted an X-Wing? Yeah, that one. And it played flawlessly. Next, my fiance was alternating between Spongebob and Patrick on Gamecube's "Battle for Bikini Bottom!" After playing some Gamecube, I fired up NHL '94 on the Sega Genesis (the greatest hockey game of all time).

I'm not sure of the exact number of games here, it's over 5,000 and may be closer to 6,000. You will see many retro game consoles on Amazon, eBay, and elsewhere that advertise "20,000 Games!" "60,000 Games!" and they sound great. I even own one that has 46,000 games on it...but what you don't know until you buy one is that a large, large, large number of those games are duplicates. And we're not talking about USA versions vs Japanese versions vs UK...no, we're talking about 4 copies of The Legend of Zelda and they are all the same. Not every game has a duplicate, but many of them do and that's how they hit those high numbers for games.

But not the Gametower. I haven't come across a single duplicate yet, and obviously after a week I have not played all 5-6K games on this thing but I can tell you that I have not encountered a single black screen yet. No pre-installed game has failed to launch. That's also not something you can say about those "other" guys.

The system comes with a 3rd party Xbox 360 controller, which is pretty much the greatest controller of all time. It's extremely responsive to your inputs, and playing the original Mario on a modern controller is tons of fun. As an adult, the old Nintendo controllers feel very small in my hands, but this controller just feels right. My only nitpick - whoever made the controller made such an exact replica of the original 360 version that they even made a crappy D-Pad lol The D-Pad on the 360 controller was always its weakest aspect, and that carries over here. Fortunately, though, most games on this unit also accept the analog sticks in place of it, so problem solved!

Last thing I'll mention is the customer service. Johnny is his name, and he's incredibly nice and incredibly knowledgeable. His after-purchase customer service has been exemplary! One of the features of this unit is that you can add games to it yourself if you wish, Johnny even provides instructions on how to do it. I added a few games and one in particular kept giving me trouble - I asked Johnny about it, and even though he absolutely didn't have to help (this was a game I was adding, it didn't come with the system and technically would not fall under after-sales service) he still took time out of his day to look into it and help me troubleshoot the issue (the issue was entirely user error, by the way...nothing at all to do with this console, everything to do with the dummy trying to run it!). So yeah, customer service is top notch, the console is top notch...this thing is a marvel.

To Johnny - thank you sir. This unit has brought back my childhood and enabling me to play games that I thought I'd never have an opportunity to experience. The GameTower is outstanding! Don't waste any more time reading this review, just go buy one!

Great game system!

As someone who lost a lot of my old collection in a house fire, I thought I'd never get to play Saturn and dreamcast classics again without spending some serious cash. I also have the tech skills of a 70 year old, so most emulation beyond the snes is well beyond my understanding. Luckily the gametower is not only easy to set up, it comes with an incredible library AND light gun games. It truly is worth every penny. I highly recommend it!

I erred when adding games to the sd card but Phoung helped me out and got me back up and running. Some slow down on some of the more intense PS2 games. The light gun gmames are fun but some games don't seem to like two light guns, might just need some tweaking. This system is great for the kids and me.

Hey guys don't be afraid to spend this amount of money if you want a:

- Good looking, good and consistent product

- Excellent game performance in all platforms, even Sega Saturn, Wii, GameCube and ps2.

- Excellent costumer support. You always receive an answer to your doubts.

- Excellent accessories. (Controlles with great feel, dpad, triggers and analogs, light gun with original Wii remote)

- You want everything configured out of the box. You just want to turn the console on. Enjoy your games without hassle

- A perfect Console experience. If you connect it to the wifi you can even install other themes like I did!

Overall I'm very satisfied and don't regret my investment :)

Since I know this is consistent. Good and have the feeling it will last for a very long time.

Expensive yes. It's the only " downside " But good and worth it in the end. :)

This bundle is something special to me because, as a kid, I only ever played Duck Hunt. Having a whole library of games at my fingertips now is a dream come true. Johnny is the go-to for nostalgic fun times.

This product is great, my nephew is having so much fun playing the games Point Blank 1, 2, and 3, Galaga, Crash Bandicoot, and Doom.

This is my second purchase from Johnny and his store. This machine runs really well, Its topnotch. So many game from so many consoles.

This is absolutely the best purchase I’ve ever made. I grew up with the PlayStation 1 and 2, so having access to the Dreamcast, GameCube, Wii, and many more is an amazing treat. The build of the console is perfect, the fans run cool and quiet, and the instructions are clear. Johnny is super helpful and deserves all the appreciation. This isn’t 5 stars it’s 10 stars from me!
